Smash the Cake 1st Birthday Photography in London
Smash the cake photography for the celebration of that very special 1st birthday of your child seems to be a new concept that has been quite popular. And why not? It’s a good opportunity to take some nice portraits of your cute little baby on this special day for them and you (after all – congratulations! you have survived the hardest period). But besides the classical family and baby photography shots the highlight of the session is bringing the big cake and letting the little one rick havoc without the stress. After all the messier it gets the funnier it looks on the photos.
I usually photograph smash the cake photography sessions in my photography studio in London as usually the London weather prevents me from doing such a fun photo session outdoors. But with the recent warm weather we have been lucky to manage to organize the birthday photography session in the lovely garden of the client’s house. But any little park would do if you decide to do a smash the cake photosession outdoors.
Our smash the cake 1st birthday photography session was with a vintage flavour and I brought a variety of vintage props provided by the designers I work with. The benefit of working with my designers is that every now and again they provide me with different props so I aim to make the photography session unique for each client. My client provided the cake and the cute baby’s outfit with the bowtie.
It was definitely a big chocolate cake and the little one was quite cautious in the beginning. It took quite a lot of persuasion by the older brother and sister for him to dip his fingers in the delicious white cream. And the older siblings were definitely delighted when the smash the cake photo session was over so they can fully indulge in the delicious chocolate cake.

I photographed this little adorable newborn some time ago in my home in Central London where I usually photograph newborn and baby photography sessions. Here are finally the edited images of our lovely photo session. Several years ago I photographed baby Z brother when he was born so I was certainly pleased to have my client return for a new session for the new addition to the family.
The best time to photograph a newborn is when the baby is under 14 days old so this little buddle of cuteness is only 12 days old.
My favourite baby photo from this session is the bunny outfit. I have many newborn baby props for clients to choose from when they book me for a baby photography session but the bunny is still my favourite one.

Destination wedding photography in Italy have the magic of weddings taking place in romantic Tuscany or glamourous lakes, destination weddings in France have the exquisiteness of Cot d’Azur but shooting a destination wedding in Eastern Europe provides the opportunity to shooting a high end wedding in unique places like the ex-Presidential Residency just outside of Sofia, Bulgaria.
It is always a delight to work with the amazing wedding planner Mariella from Prikazen Den (http://www.prikazenden.com/) and this destination wedding in Bulgaria was certainly a treat.
The wedding ceremony took place in a small Orthodox church in the centre of Sofia which followed by a photography photo session around the centre of Sofia and the beautiful cathedral of Alexander Nevski. We finished the photo session of the couple in the gardens of the ex-Presidential Residency in the foot of the mountain Vitosha just outside Sofia. Now the Residency serves as a national museum but weddings and events often took place in the glamorous room of the Sun. And with the beautiful table set ups and the amazing chandelier in the form of a sun the wedding room of the wedding party was indeed breath-taking.
The azure blue theme of the wedding gave an amazing summer feeling which was refreshing in the summer heat of Bulgaria. All bridal details were perfectly coordinated along with the bridesmaids dresses and grooms ties, but this is to be expected by an exquisite bride like my client.
Sadly, I’m not allowed to publish any of the couple or guests photos from the wedding day but the beautiful details from the church to the table set ups speak for themselves of the high end level of this beautiful destination wedding.

Lisa has been my client several times together when she hired me to photograph the barmitzvah celebrations of her two children as well as her family on other occasions. So I was very delighted when she contacted me to ask me to be her wedding photographer for her wedding.
Tying the knot with her fiancé was a very intimate event but there was so much love and emotion that once again I felt privileged to be a wedding photographer and to witness such amazing moments of people’s lives.
The lovely civil wedding ceremony took place in Chelsea Town Hall. Sadly the torrential rain prevented us from doing the family wedding photography in the lovely park in Chelsea across the street from the Town Hall. However following a lovely lunch in the exclusive Wolseley restaurant on Piccadilly and just before sunset we had a short spell of sunshine and I grabbed Lisa and Mark for some romantic wedding photography shots in Green Park by the Buckingham palace.
The party then continued in Lisa’s amazing house where she has personally decorated everything. The amazingly delicious food was also prepared by Lisa’s catering company. The cake was one of the most beautiful and exquisite ones I’ve seen and was the piece of art by Tina from Tina K wedding Cakes (www.tinak.co.uk).

I’m totally thrilled that for the third time my less traditional and more funny newborn baby photography (or as I refer to them baby collages) have been featured in the Daily Mail.
I love doing classic newborn baby photography sessions in my studio in London but when I became a mom a few years ago I wanted to do something a bit different and funnier. I have drawn my inspiration on baby photography from Anne Geddes and more importantly Adele Enersen but I hope I have managed to do my own twist on these more creative newborn photos.
The press release in the Daily Mail features my newborn baby photos on Arabic theme and inspired by Arabic folklore including Sinbad the Sailor, Aladdin and 1001 nights. And a bit of my own imagination.
The inspiration of this baby photography series was from a client from Saudi Arabia who contacted me especially for this style of photos which she has seen featured in the popular French Magazine Paris Match (http://www.parismatch.com/Culture/Art/En-images/Bonne-nuit-les-petits-599326). However she wanted something different and unique for her newborn baby.
So after some thought and research I thought it would be a great idea to tailor the baby photosession to her background and heritage.
And I’m very excited the Daily Mail has honored my baby photography in an article about Neli Prahova Photography featuring my newborn baby photography images.
I look forward to the next challange and next project I will embark on.

Spring has finally arrived and the sun is shining more often so why not capture beautiful family photos with those lovely blossomed trees on the background. And if you are frustrated with those difficult to capture family selfies but you can’t afford a full professional photography session here is a special promotion for an outdoors family photo session in Central London.
This Bank holiday on 1st and 2nd May I’m running a special offer for an outdoors family photography. I can be flexible on the park locations but Victoria Park is my favourite for East London family photo session, Hyde Park for Central London sessions and Fulham Palace Park for West London family photography.
With spring sun rising earlier and setting later the best time for the sessions is in the morning and late afternoon. So I can only offer limited number of family photo sessions so book early to avoid disappointment. To book your family photo session email me on email@example.com.

Paris is known as the city of Love and it every time I visit this beautiful city it lives up to its fame of a romantic city. R&M have fallen in love with the city and have arranged their elopement in Paris with the help of the French wedding planner Marina from Dreams in Paris (www.dreams-in-paris.com). I’ve worked with Marina on a few weddings and she indeed can help dreams come true in Paris.
I’m always thrilled to be given the opportunity to be the destination wedding photographer of couples who decide to get married in Paris. R&M were true romantics and have decided to say their vows in front of the Eiffel Tower only in the presence of the celebrant Jerome (http://myfrenchofficiant.com/wedding-celebrant-in-france/) and their two witnesses.
Following this beautiful and intimate ceremony we had couple of hours to explore a couple of famous location in Paris before the sunset. We finished our wedding photography session in Paris by the city’s most famous spot – the gorgeous cathedral Notre Dame de Paris.

Here are a few photos of a lovely family from Wapping which I photographed in the professional photography studio in Wapping London.
One of the reasons I always recommend family studio photography is because clients have the opportunity to change clothes. We started the studio baby photo session with dressier up photos using my vintage style photo props. I just love this adorable hat with the veil and how it goes along with the pearls. And up to the age of one studio photography is perfect if you want to capture your baby in those adorable cherub style photos without the clothes. We did a few of these cute nude baby photography poses where baby C was raising her head but sadly with all the internet exposure I avoid posting that style of children photography. At 9 months old this little princess was sitting perfectly and was certainly a fast little crawler.
She had quite a few changes of the clothes before we finished the photo session with some family photos. It was the client’s request to do the pretend walking photo but I really loved the idea and I’ll certainly use it in the future.
I love shooting outdoors family photography in London but I totally enjoy shooting family photography in my professional studio in Central London so I get to do something more creative with props. Also with the weather in London being so unpredictable most of the year I always recommend studio photography especially for children and babies that are younger than 1 year when they still can’t walk.

Here are a few more photos from the city engagement session of A&L.
For the second part of their London photo session we walked passed the iconic Tower Bridge of London and then continued to the Leadenhall Market. Leadenhall Market is one of these hidden jewels in the City of London. With no hustle and bustle from businessmen on the weekend it’s ideal of a more unique background for a portrait session.
The benefit of doing an engagement session is not only to get to know me and how I work but also it’s a chance to have some more informal photos as a memory. But more importantly besides having these photos stored on the computer I suggest to couples to use the photos from the engagement session to create either a framed signing photo for guests or a signing book for guests to sign on the wedding day.
Following the engagement session I’ve sent A&L a selection of the photos and suggested to use the photos either for a signing frame or for a signing book for the guests to sign on the wedding day at the Old Kent Barn. A&L chose to have a signing book which I’ve designed for them. I highly recommend the signing books as it’s really wonderful to preserve all friends’ wishes but for A&L it also preserved a nice memory of couple of romantic hours in the heart of the City of London.
